My name is Katie Gamble. I have a very strong desire to love and care for orphans overseas. This past January, the Lord burdened my heart to explore the possibility of a short term missions project. The Haiti Orphan Project (HOPE) is trying to do something substantial to help struggling families. By assisting with educational costs for children, bringing basic health care to the communities, and helping create jobs, these families have HOPE. And hopefully, through their ongoing work, the children in these families will never enter an orphanage.
I'll be helping with mobile medical clinics and spending time with the children playing soccer and other fun games kids love to do. Our time will also include participating in the weekly food event and bible lesson and seeing the latest job creation opportunities. I want to be an encouragement and learn all I can so I can be their champions back in my home area.
